Health and Hygiene
The Health and Hygiene in the Elizabethan Era was not good at all. Middle class people would only bath once or twice a year. The roads were full of sewerage and mud. The smell was horrific and I don't see how the people back then could bear the smell. I would have died of the smell if I was alive back then. Also in the Elizabethan times the plague was spreading rapidly and many people caught the sickness and died. It started to get so bad that they came around the houses and collected the dead because the smell was putrid. They tried to heal the sick but sometimes it just made the helper sick or made the patient even sicker. The resin why it spread so quickly was because they lived closely together in compact communities. Some people such as farmers worked with animals which didn't make there hygiene better or there health.
In conclusion The Elizabethan Era was a horrible place to live in because it was unhealthy and an unhygienic place to live. It was so bad that the average age was around forty. Now days you see people live to 80's, 90's or even up to 100.
